Writer's picture: actproductionspeiactproductionspei

October 2-5, 1997 Location: Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean, Charlottetown Written by: Larry Shue Director: David Sherren Producer: Gerry Gray Stage Manager: Wallena Higgins-Gray

Cast: John Conway Sara Fraser Tyler Gallant-Hatcher Ben Kinder Nancy McLure Ed Rashed David Sherren David Sherren had long been keen to put it on — a proven hit in America (1981), then Britain, then Broadway (1987/88). “Unquestionably one of the funniest plays ever written.” The gist … the hilarious dilemma of Willum, a young architect who is visited by a man he’s never met, but who saved his life in Vietnam. The trouble is that the fellow is, seemingly, an incredibly inept, downright stupid ‘nerd’. He outstays his welcome with a vengeance, almost driving his host to violence. It emerges that he’s not what he seems to be, and is part of a plan of Willum’s friend to push Willum to act on what is really important in his life.
